On March 19, Guizhou University Party Committee Secretary Yang Wei, along with Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Jie, led a delegation to the College of Resources and Environmental Engineering to convene a symposium on enhancing services for top talent. Focusing on identifying and addressing key challenges, the symposium explored concrete strategies to strengthen support systems for top talent and further enhance service quality across the university.

Leaders from the College of Resources and Environmental Engineering, College of Forestry, Guizhou Provincial Forest Resources and Environment Research Center, and the Key Laboratory of Karst Geological Resources and Environment presented overviews of their ongoing efforts to support national-level top talent.
Representatives from key administrative offices contributed insights based on their respective responsibilities. Discussions focused on improving the overall service framework—through clearer accountability, better information sharing, stronger collaboration among departments, and more comprehensive support in both work and daily life.
Yang Wei emphasized that as Guizhou University continues to advance in its high-quality development, the growing number of high-level talents makes it increasingly important to provide thoughtful, efficient, and personalized support. Enabling these individuals to thrive is essential to the university’s broader mission of excellence in education, research, and talent cultivation.
She called on all departments to:
Clarify objectives for talent recruitment and encourage a collaborative service culture;
Foster a warm, people-centered service mindset, offering tailored assistance in areas such as office space, laboratory facilities, academic support, and daily life needs;
Translate services into action by actively asking, “What can I do to help?”—ensuring smooth communication and deeper integration for topexperts into the university community;
Refine service mechanisms to address current gaps and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Yang concluded by urging all departments to think proactively, strengthen coordination, and work together to create a supportive, responsive, and empowering environment for top talent—injecting fresh momentum into the university’s journey toward high-quality development.
