On March 29, Guizhou University alumni living in Zhejiang gathered in Hangzhou, capital of the eastern province, to participate in the founding ceremony of the university's Zhejiang Alumni Association. The event took place at the New Century Grand Hotel and marked a new chapter in GZU's effort to strengthen alumni ties and build bridges for future collaboration.

The event was attended by Li Fei, Vice President and Standing Member of CPC Committee of Guizhou University; Zhang Yu, Director of the Economic Affairs Office of the Guizhou Provincial Government’s Shanghai Office; and Feng Yixiong, Professor at GZU's School of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory for Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems.
During the meeting, Jin Feng ('04, philosophy), a GZU alumus in Zhejiang and a key member of the organizing committee, gave a briefing on the preparatory work. He called on fellow alumni to use the association as a platform to share resources and promote GZU-Zhejiang cooperation.
Tao Meijiang, Deputy Director of Guizhou University’s Office of External Cooperation, read the official approval document from the university’s alumni federation endorsing the association’s establishment.
The gathering also saw the election of the association’s first board. Wu Chaobiao, a mechanical engineering graduate, was elected president, while Jin Feng was named secretary-general. Other board members, including vice presidents and councilors, were also confirmed.
At the event, GZU and its alumi federation represenatives presented appointment letters to the new board. Vice President Li also unveiled the plaque for the Zhejiang branch of the Guizhou University Alumni Federation.

In his remarks, Wu Chaobiao expressed gratitude for the trust and support from both the university and his fellow alumni. He pledged to fulfill his responsibilities, grow the association’s influence, and better serve the alumni community under the guidance of the central alumni federation.
Lu Yi ('07, economics and management), Vice President of Ningbo Ruifu Group, reflected on his time at Guizhou University and the support he received during his studies. He reaffirmed his commitment to giving back and contributing to both the university and its alumni network.
Zhang Yu spoke of the longstanding ties between Zhejiang and Guizhou, encouraging alumni to invest in Guizhou and help fuel its high-quality economic development.
Over 60 GZU alumni from across Zhejiang—including Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou, Jinhua, Shaoxing, and Jiaxing—attended the event, sharing fond memories and reconnecting with GZU faculty representatives.
